Raw buckwheat groats are the hulled seeds of Fagopyrum esculentum—a gluten-free pseudo-cereal with a soft texture and gentle nutty flavour

These groats can be used raw, cooked, and milled into flour for gluten-free recipes. Use whole or ground for soups, salads, baking, or traditional favourites like kasha varnishkes and potato knish.

Buckwheat is rich in fibre, manganese, copper, and the antioxidant rutin, known for its role in supporting blood pressure and capillary health.

To cook: rinse, then simmer 1 part groats to 2 parts water for around 30 minutes.

Not to be confused with kasha (toasted buckwheat), raw groats are cream to pale green with a light aroma.

Available in several sizes; 5kg and 10kg options can be supplied in food-safe lidded buckets.
